First of all a little history.….
Here at JMS Framing we are all mad members of the Tartan Army and have followed Scotland all over the world. On 12th September 2007, in the Parc de Princes, Paris, James McFadden unleashed an unstoppable shot against France which may go down as one of the best goals, scored by a Scottish player, of all time. And we were there!

We have also been involved, at various times in raising money, through the Tartan Army club we are members of, for Tartan Army based charities, mainly the Tartan Army Sunshine Appeal and also the Tartan Army Childrens Charity. So we felt it would be great to commemorate James’ goal by means of a portrait and also raise money for the charities at the same time. We commissioned an Artist - Jim Sneddon - a renowned Scottish Artists who's work has been featured in St Andrews and appeared in Golfing Magazines, to turn his hand to a commemorative portrait of James.
And here it is! - entitled - James McFadden ‘Le Goal’
Our Aim is to raise £10,000 for the Tartan Army Charities by selling Limited Edition prints of the original and through your support and hopefully by passing a link of this page to your friends we can sell all the prints and achieve our ’le goal’ of 10k!
The prints have been kindly signed by James McFadden for which we are delighted and thank him wholeheartedly for his support! Thank You James!
The wording along the base of the picture reads - "This print is from an original painting by Scottish artist Jim Sneddon, and was commissioned by members of the Tartan Army, for the Tartan Army, to commemorate probably one of Scotland’s finest goals scored by James McFadden against France at the Parc de Princes, Paris on the 12th September 2007."
It is very difficult for you to see the true definition of the picture on the internet so we are currently negotiating with stockists around Scotland for you to physically go and have a look at it. We currently have stockists in Aberdeen, Inverness and Coatbridge - details at the foot of the page. The original has been loaned to the Scottish Football Museum at Hampden Park and can be seen next to the boots James wore that night in Paris. It will be on loan at the museum for at least the next 6 months.
There are 3 options of print type to choose from described and priced below with an explanation of what they are!
1. Standard Limited Edition numbering 325 in total. A limited Edition run is exactly as it says, it is a run, in this instance 325 copies of the original painting and have been individually numbered and signed by both James and the Artist. They come with a certificate of authenticity to prove the item is genuine. The certificate also has a photograph of James signing the prints and details of where and when the signing took place. These come either framed or can be ordered without a frame and will be sent to you in a postal tube. When they are all sold there will NOT be another run.

The framed print measures 88cm x 70cm. It’s bigger than you think! .....
The print alone is sized 59.5cm x 41.5cm.
The Limited Editions are priced at £129.99 framed or £69.99 unframed
2. Artists Proof Limited Edition. This is the first run of prints from the first plate used, so they are the ‘original copies’ to put it in its simplest form. These number 50 in total and are marked for example 7/50AP which denotes which number you have from a run of 50 Artists Proofs. They are more valuable from a collectors point of view and as with the Standard Limited Edition run all are signed by both James and the Artist and again when they are gone they are gone!

The Artists Proofs only come framed and are priced at £249.99
3. Re-Marque Limited Edition. This is a special run, again lower in number than the Artists Proof, we have only 25 in total. A Re-Marque is where the artist sketches an addition onto the print, therefore each print in this run will be truly unique, The example below shows James on the ball but all sketches will vary! They are of more value to the serious collector, and again are signed by both the artist and James. A true investment. For example they will be marked Re-Marque 8/25.
